ING is looking for Trainees to join the Front Office and Transaction Support teams. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure across three key departments, depending on business needs and profile fit:

Front / Middle Office Transaction Management (TMO)

Front Office Assistant Parent Account Management (APAM)

Front Office Support Transactional & Regulatory (T&R)

Your role

As a Trainee, you will support clientfacing teams in their daily activities and develop a strong understanding of transaction banking, risk analysis, and regulatory processes.

  • This trainee role is for 16 months.
  •  Working schedule: 80% at ING, 20% at school

Depending on the department, your responsibilities may include:

Transaction Management (TMO)

Support Transaction Managers in daily client activities (Energy, Metals & Softs or Structured Products)

Handle client requests (payments, account balances, collateral releases, letters of credit)

Perform transactional risk analysis and contribute to financing onboarding

Monitor exposures, collateral, and risk utilisation under bilateral and syndicated transactions

Maintain client economic positions and contribute to credit committees

Assistant Parent Account Management (APAM)

Support Relationship Managers with market and counterparty analysis

Prepare client meeting reports and financial analysis

Contribute to credit memos, risk ratings, and KYC reviews

Assist with compliance and onboarding matters

Transactional & Regulatory (T&R)

Support front office throughout the transaction lifecycle

Maintain client portfolio data and ensure data quality

Input financial statements and perform credit ratings

Support regulatory, ESG, sanctions, and compliance assessments

Contribute to reporting, monitoring, and profitability simulations

Student at the Master Trading Commodity in Geneva.

Proficient with MS Office, particularly Excel

Interest in banking, risk, and financial markets

Strong analytical and problemsolving skills

High level of task focus, with attention to detail, diligent execution, and strong organization and prioritization abilities

Clear communication skills, particularly when providing status updates on processes and tasks to direct stakeholders

Fast learner, able to quickly understand new topics without requiring repeated explanations
