Job Overview

As a business analyst you will be a key player in the cooperation between Business Stakeholders, Product Owners, Customer Journey Experts, other Business Analysts, Solution Architects, and DevOps Engineers. Your holistic view as well as your knowledge of both Working Capital Solutions and Trade Finance Business and IT are crucial in the gathering and translation of business requirements into high quality functional designs, support for Product Owners and Squads during refinement, and validating solutions. Post-implementation, you will provide ongoing support, guaranteeing the quality of our IT solutions.

The team

You will be part of the Trade department withing Wholesale Banking Tech, Transaction Services. You will collaborate with multiple teams spread across domains in Philippines, Singapore, India, Bulgaria, The Netherlands, Turkey and more. We follow a Scrum Agile development process and strongly believe in the DevOps approach to deliver better software faster. We work with the latest technologies, tools, and frameworks, which means that you work in a dynamic environment in which you are continuously learning. Key Responsibilities

As an IT BA you are part of the ING Tech community and a key player in the cooperation between Business, Architecture, and IT stakeholders. In this triangle you create insight, overview and structure in a complex IT and Business landscape to help guide the way for our squads. Your driver is to make complex changes happen within and across teams and departments. Your holistic view as well as your knowledge of both Business and IT and your ability to align stakeholders are crucial in the translation of requirements to functional feature designs. You define and align feature designs and roadmaps between squads and other parts of the organization and thoroughly manage functional dependencies.

As an IT Business Analyst, you create a functional feature design and functional dependency roadmap and you breakdown requirements into features.

  • From a strategic business & IT context you deliver detailed functional roadmaps. You can clearly describe the as is situation, the to be situation and the changes that have to be made to get there, including dependencies.
  • You can slice epics into features, so squads are able to refine their features into concrete user stories. You have an end-to-end view and describe the dependencies between the features and between the squads that will handle them.
  • Together with the IT Integrator you address the features (and underlying user stories) to the relevant squads and support in the accurate feature definition and estimation. You clarify the definition of done together with the product lead(s).
  • You verify if the realized IT solutions meet the requirements, translated in the feature design.

Key Capabilities/Experience

  • Solution Development (Translating business requirements into IT requirements)
    • Define the as is situation, and the to be situation.
    • Create test scenarios (both happy/unhappy flow).
    • Define the functional/technical requirements, ensuring that both Business and IT have a clear understanding of the solution.
  • Knowledge of banking processes and products. (It will be an edge to have a background on Working Capital Solutions and Trade Finance Business)
  • Documentation (should be able to write):
    • Functional design including process flows
    • Data flows
    • Sequence diagrams
    • Roadmaps
  • Very good communication skills:
    • Competent to explain IT requirements.
    • Social / influencing skills to operate at different levels, ranging from dev-engineers to sr. Mgmt. Level.
    • Knows the right questions to ask when gathering information from the business.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience bridging the gap between business and IT.
  • Proficient and experienced using various techniques for requirements elicitation, functional design and slicing Epics and features into user stories.
  • A bachelors or post-graduate degree.
  • Experience in working in a complex and challenging environment.
  • Experience with an agile way of working.
  • Knowledgeable about core banking services, working capital solutions and trade finance.
