ING Global Events & Experiences - Global Communications, Brand and MarCom

Do you a have a passion for event management and do you want to help ING create human connections all around the world? We at ING offer you an opportunity to do an internship in our global events & experiences team, where you will be working on creating experiences for clients and other stakeholders every day.

ING is a global financial institution with a strong European base, offering banking services. We draw on our experience and expertise, our commitment to excellent service and our global scale to meet the needs of a broad customer base, comprising individuals, families, small businesses, large corporations, institutions, and governments. Our customers are at the heart of what we do.

The events & experiences team is part of the Global Communications, Brand & MarCom department and is based at the ING Cedar office in Amsterdam Zuid-Oost. The high-level events we organise vary from internal webinars, internal brand activation to global conferences, global financial exhibitions and large leadership events, and anything in between.


For all these events we develop event concepts, we understand the content, we have an advisory role and are responsible for logistics (e.g. scouting suitable locations, align with third party suppliers for audio visual arrangements, decoration, entertainment, security, external speakers, write detailed minute to minute scripts, deal with the financials etc.). Next to this, we are responsible for the invitation process and evaluation process.

What will you be doing?
During this internship you will play a very important role in the preparation and organisation of several events. Just a glance of your activities:

  • You will have an active part in different event project teams and will have dedicated tasks,
  • You will be part of the execution team on site for several events
  • You will be setting up and maintaining registration websites for our events (dont worry you dont need to programme it, we have an easy tool for it),
  • You will keep track on the registrations of our delegates,
  • You will help us to make sure our scripts are up to date with the latest details,
  • You will be responsible for the general department mailbox, handling incoming emails,
  • You will manage our ING event goodies store

What are we looking for in you?
We are looking for an enthusiastic student, who has a curious mind and has hospitality at heart.

  • You are an HBO or WO student, studying for roles in the field of Events, Sponsoring, Marketing, Communication, (international) Business- or Leisure management.
  • You are passionate about events, and preferably already have some experience in hospitality and/or event planning.
  • You have an open mindset, you are flexible, pro-active and hands on
  • You are able to take some responsibility and think in solutions
  • You always strive for the best, and don't settle for half-measures
  • You have good communication skills and a good command of the Dutch and English language (in writing and speaking)
  • You can work with the MS Office package (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • You have an eye for detail and details are making you happy.
