ING offers both retail and wholesale banking services in Australia. INGs regional presence includes a stake in Bank of Beijing, China and a stake in TMBThanachart Bank in Thailand.

Singapore is the regional headquarters for ING's Wholesale Banking (WB) business in Asia, which includes all WB business lines such as Financial Markets, Strategic Products, Sectors, Lending and Transaction Services and other support functions.

What does the Sector Coverage Team do in ING?

We are the relationship coverage team for local corporate clients as well as Asian subsidiaries of multinationals headquartered in Europe and Americas. We cultivate long term relationships with our clients and leverage our deep understanding of clients to offer a broad range of products (including trade finance, financing, financial markets and working capital solutions) that best matches their banking needs. As the relationship coverage team, we are the first port of call for our clients and collaborate extensively with various Sector and Product teams on the origination of transactions across INGs Global Network.

Based in Singapore, the intern will work closely with the relationship managers and supports the team in promoting business in Singapore and across INGs Global Network.

What would you be doing?

  • Prepare briefing and presentations for client meetings in conjunction with product partners.

  • Participate in internal/external meetings and provide follow-up support.

  • Assist the team in preparing business reports and portfolio analyses.

  • Conducting research on industries as well as new client prospects.

  • Supporting the team in execution and delivery of transactions including KYC onboarding.

  • Supporting the team on ad-hoc projects.

What qualities and skills are we looking for?

We are looking for a passionate individual who meets the following criteria:

  • Highly inquisitive with a willingness to learn and attention to detail

  • Good time management skills and able to function well under tight deadlines

  • Strong interpersonal skills and an effective communicator with the ability to collaborate and build rapport within a team

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint will be an added advantage

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills in English
