Role Overview:
This role sits within Finance and combines responsibilities across broker compensation accounting and financial close & reporting. The position is responsible for delivering accurate compensation calculations, maintaining strong financial controls, and producing timely management and statutory reporting.
The role will support both monthly close processes and performance-based compensation activities, while driving improvements through automation, standardisation, and enhanced analytics.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Financial Close & Reporting
Deliver timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close in accordance with group deadlines
Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, prepayments, intercompany, payroll-related entries)
Produce balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Perform P&L and balance sheet variance analysis, including front office cost analysis
Prepare management reporting and financial insights for key stakeholders
Support audit processes, tax reporting, and financial compliance requirements
Ensure adherence to IFRS, group accounting policies, and internal control frameworks
2. Broker Compensation & Payroll Accounting
Calculate and manage performance-based broker compensation (accruals and actual payouts)
Review and interpret broker contracts and compensation structures
Maintain and update compensation models, calculations, and data tables
Determine and communicate bonus allocations, deferrals, and final payouts
Post and reconcile compensation-related accruals and payroll balance sheet accounts
Partner with Front Office, HR, Payroll, and senior stakeholders on compensation matters
3. Controls, Reconciliation & Risk Management
Maintain strong financial controls across close and compensation processes
Reconcile intercompany balances and compensation-related accounts
Ensure all processes are aligned with risk, audit, and compliance frameworks
Identify and mitigate process risks and control gaps
4. Stakeholder Management & Business Partnering
Partner with Desk Heads, Finance teams, HR, and senior leadership
Provide clear communication on financial results and compensation outcomes
Collaborate with global teams to ensure consistency and best practices
5. Process Improvement & Transformation
Drive automation and process improvements (e.g. Alteryx, reporting tools)
Support migration to standardised global operating models
Enhance data quality, reporting efficiency, and analytical capabilities
Experience / Competences
Essential
Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
Experience in financial close, reporting, and reconciliations
Strong understanding of accruals, journals, and financial controls
Ability to manage large data sets and complex calculations
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong time management and ability to meet tight deadlines
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency
Desired
Experience in broker compensation, bonus structures, or payroll accounting
Knowledge of financial systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP, OneStream, Alteryx)
Experience in audit support and regulatory reporting
Exposure to process improvement, automation, or transformation initiatives
