Job Title: VP - Traded Risk

Traded Risk Measurement, Monitoring & Control team sits within Risk & Compliance.

TRMMC Teams composition: Aggregation, Stress Testing, Market Data Management (MDM), Traded risk Analysis, Counterparty credit Risk and Control Management.

These teams form part of the TRMMC, that ensure functional consistency and delivery across all work streams for the measurement, monitoring and control of traded risk. We support and lead aspects of Traded Risk Functions/activities across the HSBC Group and Regional locations: Hong Kong, London, Paris, New York, etc. This Role will lead a combination of these sub teams.

In this role, you will:

  • Leading teams that perform controls, risk analysis & explain and reporting for Markert Risk or Counterparty credit risk.
  • Review, validation and improvement of risk calculation, process and control framework.
  • Risk Data (sensitivities and risk metrics) Monitoring and Management to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of risk Analysis, explain and Reporting.
  • Able to streamline and execute operational efficiency in traded risk processes.Able to drive initiatives and challenge
  • Being the point of the escalation and resolution point for our stakeholders (Risk Managers, Traders, Senior Management and Regulators. Escalating when necessary to senior management. Strong understanding of risk measures
  • Minimizing and closing Audit/Assurance findings .Able to lead a large team (i.e. not limit too: Set the goals, plan, execution, tracking, follow up, and coach)
  • Experience of Resource management: hiring (approvals, follows up) and make sure we have cover.
  • Maintain team engagement levels.Inspire a proactive, curious team

To be successful you will:

  • Able to explain on the drivers behind the movements in risk metrics such as sensitivities (PV01, CS01, EQ delta, Gamma etc.), VaR/SVaR/IRC and FRTB SA & IMA metrics etc for MR or PFE, EE, for CCR
  • A degree / qualification in Finance, Accountancy, Business Management or previous experience in Risk Management (Market Risk) or quantitative courses
  • Ability to use and code in Python
  • Ability to drive performance under pressure and tight timelines
  • Ability to respond on a timely manner to ad hoc risk enquiries, and ensures data quality by identifying potential issues and proactively escalating it
  • Ability to learn within a dedicated span of training time and transfer knowledge appropriately
  • Self-motivated, excellent communication skills, adaptability.Strategic thinker, planner and a good listener
