We are looking for a Senior Sales Manager in our Zurich office focusing specifically on Regional Treasury Centre clients covering business development, client acquisition, continuing relationship management, and providing the necessary support through the effective positioning of GPS products both locally and globally. The position contributes directly to revenues and margins, the competitiveness of the bank, and relies on exceptional execution and implementation of HSBC’s business, financial, and strategic goals in Switzerland.

Principal Accountabilities

Sales / Client Relationship Management

  • Sell and support GPS solutions to clients in Switzerland, and in other countries in which HSBC operates.
  • Actively develop and manage a portfolio of Regional Treasury Centre clients
  • Acting as sparring partner on cash management to both external clients (Treasurers and Treasury staff), as well as internal clients and stakeholders such as Relationship Managers (RMs).
  • Lead and/or participate in complex sales & deal structuring; incl. RFI / RFPs.
  • Provide clients with advice on efficient banking and transaction structures, liquidity solutions, and investment options.
  • Acting as escalation point for cash management issues within the HSBC network, and assuring that issues are solved in a timely manner by the various client service, implementation, and/or product teams.
  • Work closely with Client Connectivity teams to ensure product/services are correctly implemented within agreed timelines.
  • Provide specialist support to coverage teams on the GPS product suite in Switzerland
  • Interact and partake in CRM/pipeline management.

Organisational Effectiveness

  • Client Focus – assist in effectively cross-selling GPS solutions as part of the product mix to new and existing clients. Assisting RM's in better understanding products and positioning to be effective in client engagement.
  • Matrix management – form a relationship and better understanding of regional requirements and management to better network, and ultimately provide effective solutions for clients.
  • Time Management – Ensure all deliverables are met within the prescribed time.

Financial

  • To assist in the management of GPS Product profitability.
  • Monitor and track plan execution and implementation on continuous basis.
  • Sound understanding of customer revenue, assets, liabilities, and transaction volume (drivers) around them.
  • Variance analysis as per request from Management team.

People

  • Extensive interaction with functional partners including Product, Implementation and Client Services
  • Extensive daily cooperation with GPS Head and Relationship Managers.
  • Build confidence with clients (internal and external).
  • Local, Global, and Regional Sales business central point of contact depending on client need.

Relevant Knowledge and Skills

  • Essential: GPS, Sales, or Treasury track record; demonstrably strong Product/Technical Payments and Liquidity knowledge (ERP, TMS, Channels, Swift, File Formats, Liquidity Products, Pooling, etc.).
  • Excellent network within large corporate clients in Switzerland.
  • Very strong interpersonal skills to interact appropriately with Client senior management.
  • Excellent communication and written skills.
  • German language is considered valuable but not a pre-requisite. Fluency in English
  • Pro-active, ability to work in a team.
  • Accurately interpret and analyse results with attention to detail.
  • Results driven and committed to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, understand and escalate issues, ability to acquire new skills and assist colleagues.
  • Very strong analytical skills.
  • Thorough awareness of market needs and competitive environment.
  • Demonstrate innovative capability and recognized cash management product industry skills.
  • Capable of substantially impacting customer relationships.
