Role Purpose
Head of Health & Safety Management leads the effective management of HSBC’s Health & Safety environment across UK.
The Head of Health & Safety Management, UK works with and reports into the Head of Corporate Services, Operations UK across all their areas of responsibility, aligning, delivering and contributing to policies, processes, procedures and tools for their implementation.
The Head of Health & Safety Management, UK also supports the Global Head of Health and Safety as appropriate.

In this role you will:
• Driving and embedding Health & Safety policy, standards and procedures across UK
• Ensuring appropriate Health and safety strategy is in place across UK
• Owns key stakeholder relationships across UK, as well as proactively building additional stakeholder relationships as appropriate
• Manage Health and Safety consultants and other health and safety supplier relationships
• Proactively oversees and monitors control effectiveness including the identification of emerging issues
• Actively understands/reports on Health and Safety performance and risk across UK
• Ensures effective Health and Safety risk management
• Acts as a trusted advisor in all aspects of Health and Safety
• Actively contributes to the setting of Global Health and Safety policy
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
• Previous experience in managing a complex Health and Safety environment is essential.
• Detailed understanding of Health and Safety legislation and best practice is essential
• Experience in identifying, assessing and mitigating Health and safety risk within the organization.
• Excellent strategic oversight with practical, hands-on experience of managing multiple projects is essential
• Experience in influencing and challenging senior stakeholders
• Health and Safety qualifications required (ie Chartered Membership of Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH)
The role is based in Birmingham or Sheffield, Hybrid.
