HSBC Asset Management fulfils its purpose of connecting HSBC’s clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.
We have an exciting opportunity within HSBC Asset Management (AM) FIG (Financial Institutions Group) liquidity business – this is a Director role and will report into the Head of EMEA FIG Liquidity Sales which is part of the AMEU Institutional business. The role will target the FIG sub sectors in GBM as well as working closely with Product partners. The aim of the role is to win new clients and grow AUM and revenue for the liquidity business. There will also be a focus on cross-selling Asset management’s other asset classes through collaboration with the Wholesale, ETF, Institutional and FIG teams in particular.

In this role you will:

  • Assist the FIG sales head to formulate and implement the tactical sales plan for Liquidity in the Treasury Segment that leads to profitable Asset Under Management growth through selling HSBC Global Liquidity Funds, Asian currency liquidity funds and US Money Market Funds to institutional FIG (Banks and non-bank financial institutions).
  • Pro-actively identify and acquire new business with the focus on maximizing revenue growth via increased AUM from target clients with a primary focus on key UK decision makers including Finance Directors and Regional Treasurers
  • Partner with other HSBC business channels including Markets & Securities Services (MSS), Global Payment Solutions (GPS) and Prime Services in particular to identify product gaps or enhancement ideas and contribute to development of long-term vision/product strategy.
  • Understands and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.
  • Be a team player and be supportive to other colleagues and add value to the Assessment Management FIG Liquidity Team

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Possess significant levels of product knowledge of Liquidity products (treasury, cash, short-term investment management products) is essential for this role – it is expected that you should have already attained a director or equivalent level role.
  • Evidence of being a successful director level sales professional with deep knowledge of the Financial Institutions client space within Global Markets is essential for this role.
  • Possess very strong interpersonal skills that engenders a ‘Trusted Advisor’ status within a varied stakeholder group often at senior C-suite level leadership.
  • Demonstrate strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse, interpret and distil complex and varied data into easily digestible content.
  • Shows empathy and is adept in engaging with people from different geographic regions and cultures.

This role is based on a hybrid working pattern at HSBC Offices in Canada Square, London and your home - you should be able to work in London on a weekly basis. There will be occasional international travel.
