OUR IMPACT
At Goldman Sachs, the Relationship Lending Group (RLG) serves as a cornerstone in the firms approach to the relationship-based lending business. By underwriting, structuring, executing, and advising on a wide array of transactions that require the firms capital commitment, RLG ensures the smooth facilitation of financial solutions ranging from unsecured and secured revolversincluding asset-based lending and borrowing base facilitiesto term loans, bridge loans, delayed draw term loans, and letter of credit facilities. These transactions span primary loan syndication, refinancing, amendments, secondary market purchases, and bilateral lending.
Collaboration is central the RLG role; team members will regularly coordinate with other banks syndication desks, clients/borrowers, external legal counsel, and a broad spectrum of internal teams such as Investment Banking, Investment Grade Capital Markets, Leveraged Finance, Legal, and Credit Risk Management. This multifaceted interaction ensures that every transaction is meticulously managed and strategically executed.
HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
In the role of Associate, you will work as an integral member of the team, actively participating in the execution of relationship loans while also being responsible for portfolio analytics and reporting. The position involves working on multiple simultaneous transactions at various stages of execution. This includes liaising with business team on initial lending requests and following the transaction through the approval process, including managing the negotiation of loan documentation. Throughout the process you will be working with multiple GS teams while balancing conflicting priorities and ensuring significant issues are elevated to management. Management, analytics & reporting on the loan portfolio will involve producing both ad hoc analysis and presentations, as well as reports on a regular basis for senior management and various internal constituencies.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Undergraduate Degree in Economics / Finance / Accounting related discipline is preferable
[2]+ years prior financial services experience (including summer internships)
Highly motivated and adaptable: ability to respond creatively and quickly in a fast-paced, high-pressure, changing environment
Strong analytical and organizational skills: able to manage multiple tasks and competing work streams
Demonstrated technical proficiency: experience analyzing data and summarizing results to produce succinct high-impact presentations
Excellent communication skills: ability to speak with internal and external parties, such as IB teams, syndication banks and GS clients
Accurate and detail-oriented with sound judgment and integrity
Experience and interest in leveraging AI applications
Keen interest in the financial markets
