AWM Operations are responsible for front-to-back operational support to the Goldman Sachs Asset Management business in service, delivery, and processing functions across the trade, client, and product lifecycle. Goldman Sachs Asset Management provides global investment opportunities to a substantial and diversified client base including institutions, governments and high net worth individuals. Critical to the success of the firm is our ability to leverage a global team of talented professionals in order to define solutions and lead change across the operational infrastructure.

 

Request for Proposal (RFP) Team in Tokyo plays a crucial role in supporting Goldman Sachs Asset Management's business expansion in Japan. The team is responsible for crafting high-impact RFPs to articulate our global capabilities and investment products to prospective Japanese institutional clients, as well as completion of Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs) for our existing institutional clients. The Centralized RFP team partners closely with multiple functions including Sales, Portfolio Management, Product team, Legal & Compliance, and Infrastructure teams to communicate information regarding the firm, product offerings, investment philosophy, and product-specific information to the client via RFPs and DDQs. As a key component of the firms global strategy, the team strives to provide systematic solutions, aiming to deliver the highest standard of RFPs. The primary responsibility includes: 

  • Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of proposals for Japanese institutional clients, including co-ordination and completion of high-quality RFPs and DDQs from prospective clients, consultants, and existing clients in a timely and accurate manner
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to prepare RFP content
  • Collaborate with offshore teams to leverage global systems and proprietary databases
  • Finalize and refine sophisticated RFP responses to ensure they are ready for submission
  • Evaluate the RFP preparation process to identify and implement automation opportunities and workflow efficiencies
  • Develop strong working relationships with client portfolio management teams, sales professionals, client relationship managers, compliance and other groups

 

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 5 years of high-performance RFP experience in asset management company
  • Comprehensive knowledge of traditional investment products
  • Strong attention to detail, combined with exceptional project management and technical writing skills
  • Ability to manage high-volume requests while maintaining peak performance under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a demonstrated ability to adopt to and champion new digital systems and processes
  • Awareness of risk management and compliance protocols
  • A high-collaboration, team-oriented mindset capable of working across diverse geographies
  • Native-level Japanese (written and spoken) and professional English proficiency for global collaboration 
  • Experience with low-code platforms, BI tools, or AI application is preferred
  • Knowledge about alternative investment products is preferred
