Distribution Services

Global Shareholder Services is a sales-aligned service organization that provides Investor servicing and record keeping focused on enabling distribution, providing consultative services, creating scale and controls.

The Distribution Services team is responsible for managing relationships with intermediary client firms of Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Responsibilities include maximizing distribution opportunities, building and strengthening the infrastructure between our organizations, and delivering world class client experiences. Our team manages new product and platform launches, and delivers robust, scalable and best in class solutions and operational processes. The role will focus on enabling business, implementing strategic client or internal initiatives, identifying service improvements, and leading communication with other Goldman Sachs Asset Management teams primarily focused on Separately Managed Account products distributed by third party intermediaries.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultative service and operational guidance to our clients, partnering with Global Shareholder Services and internal GS teams including Sales, Product Development, Engineering, Management and Legal 
  • Develop expertise of client infrastructure and servicing needs including broker dealers, clearing firms, independent investment advisory firms, third party administrators and retirement record keepers
  • Keep abreast of industry and regulatory landscape to understand impacts to client & to GS businesses and implement as appropriate
  • Research industry, competitor, and client best practices to determine new, more effective ways to execute our business
  • Lead and participate in client driven or internal projects, own deliverables, track and communicate status 
  • Prepare critical internal reporting (accomplishments, business plans, etc.)
  • Manage client inquiries and needs involving the execution of our business
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitors’ activities, and regulatory changes to inform strategic decisions
  • Develop and implement distribution strategies to enhance market presence and achieve business objectives
  • Possess a deep understanding of financial products offered by our Asset & Wealth Management division
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with client relationships and distribution activities

Experience / Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience specifically within the asset management or financial services industry, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of industry dynamics, products, or market trends
  • Keen attention to detail and high sense of urgency, meeting client needs in a thorough and efficient manner 
  • Highly self-motivated with strong communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment 
  • Proven experience in distribution services and client relationship management, preferably with a Separately Managed Accounts background preferred
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to multi- task
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Salary Range 
The expected base salary for this Chicago, Illinois, United States-based position is $65000-$120000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
