Murrin Murrin Operations has an opportunity for an experienced Senior Reliability and Condition Monitoring Engineer to join our established and dedicated team.

Murrin Murrin Operations is Australias largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. Our Murrin Murrin site in WAs northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. We are a diverse, dedicated and driven workforce, building a sustainable business today with a focus on tomorrow.

Murrin Murrin Operations is wholly owned by Glencore, one of the worlds largest globally diversified natural resources companies and a major producer and marketer of more than 60 commodities. Glencore employs over 145,000 people operates around 150 operating mining and processing sites, oil production assets and agricultural facilities in over 35 countries.


The Role

The successful person will become a member of a hardworking and committed team who are responsible for the development and optimisation of long-term asset management plans and strategies aligned with the implementation of improvement opportunities.
You will be responsible for:
  • Performing analysis to define and improve operating condition, reliability and costs of assets including asset Utilization, overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), & remaining useful life assessment;
  • Perform Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify potential failure modes and develop mitigation plans.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to enhance equipment reliability.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure effective execution of maintenance plans.
  • Utilise reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) techniques to optimise maintenance activities.
  • Develop reliability program monthly reports (MTBF, bad actors, etc.) and follow up Equipment Monitoring Program (EMP) programs and trends;
  • Leading discussions on rotating machinery with stakeholders including Project Management Team, Consultants, vendors, contractors etc.;
  • Developing asset's Fault analysis data base ensuring all data, drawings, and information are complete;
  • Directly contribute to and promote rigorous problem solving and RCA methodologies
  • Monitor key mechanical engineering activities, and peer review work packs and designs
  • Collaborate with and support maintenance effort, to ensure mechanical equipment performance targets are achieved
  • Ensure maximum equipment availability and reliability by applying engineering standards and principles
  • Manage small to medium engineering projects
  • Manage maintenance activities to ensure a safe working environment is achieved and maintained
  • Provide sound engineering input to scheduled and breakdown maintenance activities
  • Support Operational and Maintenance teams by providing timely engineering information and solutions

About You

This role would suit a logical thinker with excellent organizational skills who can provide leadership to direct the asset management plan and assume responsibility for improving asset reliability. 
You will also have:
  • Tertiary Qualification in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering Preferred);
  • Reliability Certification (CMRP , CRE Desirable);
  • Strong maintenance background with experience in static and rotating equipment, and their applications in 24x7 processing plant environment ideally in mining, petrochemical , oil & gas or similar industry.
  • A current and valid C class Manual drivers licence.
