Clermont Open Cut is seeking an experienced Mining Engineer to join and support our team of technical professionals on site. Located on the western edge of the Bowen Basin, Clermont Open Cut is a high performing truck & shovel operation that produces 12 million tonnes of coal per annum. Clermont Open Cut Operation is a safe, dynamic, and inclusive workplace focused on delivering high performance outcomes.  Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, this role will offer variety and opportunity to the right individual.

In this role key responsibilities will include:

• Developing efficient and practical mine designs and schedules with a focus on 0 3 month timeframe

• Working closely with the Short-Term Mine planning team and production team to ensure plan inputs are accurate

• Communicating designs/plans effectively with the production team

• Completing reconciliations for performance against plans

• Assessing opportunities for improvements in operational efficiency

• Supporting visible leadership that contributes to a safe workplace

As a degree-qualified mine planning professional, with experience in Open Cut mining, you will make recommendations based on your technical expertise and have a proven ability to advise and influence high-level decisions.  

Requirements of the role include:

• Bachelors Degree in Mining Engineering or Civil Engineering with proven Open Cut mining experience

• Experience with Deswik and Spry software packages will be highly regarded

• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

• Well-developed oral and written communication skills

• Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with various stakeholders

• QLD Drivers Licence

This role requires a safety conscious candidate prepared to challenge the norm, drive continuous improvement and who can demonstrate experience in implementing best practise using a hands-on approach.
