Mining Engineer Medium Term Design

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Mid-Term Design Engineer to join our dynamic and successful team.  As a valued member of the Medium-Term Planning team and reporting directly to the Medium/Long-Term Superintendent, you will be responsible for:

• The strategic planning and development of medium-term designs for truck and shovel, dragline and dozer push operations.

• Liaise with key personnel to ensure designs are optimised, aligned to the mine schedules and can be implemented safely.

• Developing and updating reserves to be used as inputs to the medium-term schedules.

• Coordinate and work with other departments tying in all aspects of mine planning to ensure timely delivery of critical business objectives.

• Coach and mentor other Mining Engineers within the Technical Services department to build capabilities within the team.

About you 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering; 

• Experience using Vulcan and 3DDig software packages;

• Experience using Deswik and Spry software packages is desirable;

• Well-developed interpersonal skills as this role deals with all levels of staff and management;

• A flexible attitude and a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and problem solve;

• Proven previous experience in a similar role.
