About the role
This is an opportunity for a motivated individual to join the agile, fast-paced and exciting integrated team that Advises partners on opportunities for Production Management, Depletion Management, and Area Development Planning to improve production and recovery from this field. The successful candidate will lead core activities within an integrated group of bp and partner subsurface staff and constantly collaborating with other departments and the India Shareholding team to define and progress the implementation of the short and long-term plans.
As a Reservoir engineer you will be responsible for utilizing broad reservoir engineering experience to inform resources progression and the appropriate reservoir management activities are implemented.
What you will Deliver:
Promote a strong safety culture, recognize the HSE impact on all works, communicate as appropriately to possible collaborators. Ensure all programs evaluated for potential hazards during the execution. Work withing the bp team and partner, utilizing broad classical reservoir engineering methods to properly analyze and integrate wells and reservoir data into the teams current understanding.
Provide day-to-day support to the implementation and operationalization of the rig and rigless activity plan for Mumbai High, including new wells delivery and well work. Task encompass recommending or supporting the recommendation for perforation intervals, water shut off jobs, stimulation jobs, hydrofracking jobs, working in close collaboration with the partner Subsurface team.
Conduct classical reservoir engineering analyses, integrating static and dynamic data and applying reservoir engineering concepts such as rock and fluid properties, relative permeability, depletion mechanism to manage and optimize production and water injection.
Provide sound Reservoir Engineering technical analysis, judgement, and guidance to support identification, evaluation, and progression of a hopper of rig and rigless value-generating activities
Provide technical support and guidance in framing the reservoir depletion plan, the yearly activity plan and the performance management cycle.
What you will need to be successful
Must have educational qualifications:
Bsc / Msc degree in Petroleum/ Reservoir Engineering or related applied science engineering.
Must have experience/skills:
Have a strong understanding of reservoir analysis fundamentals such as pressure transient analysis, decline curve analysis and material balance.
Good industry track record as Reservoir Engineer.
Relevant classical reservoir engineering experience in Reservoir Management, Reservoir Performance, and Analytical Reservoir Engineering workflows.
Experience with classical RE toolkits (e.g. PETEX IPM, Kappa (Saphir))
Skillful communication and influencing skills, with track record of sharing learnings.
Able to manage multiple activities and quickly respond to changing business priorities.
Able to cope with short-term deadlines and flexible prioritization acting as a squad member as required.
Minimum years of proven experience:
Minimum 6+ years experience as Reservoir Engineer, with experience in classical reservoir engineering and reserves estimation.
Good to have experience/skills:
Waterflood management and/or gas reservoir management experience
Numerical Reservoir simulation.

You will work in the bp & partner Mumbai offices.
You will work in close collaboration with both bp and partner subsurface and production teams and with bps global subsurface technical specialists and subject matter experts.
