Murrin Murrin Operations has an opportunity for an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join our established and dedicated team.

Murrin Murrin Operations is Australias largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. Our Murrin Murrin site in WAs northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. We are a diverse, dedicated and driven workforce, building a sustainable business today with a focus on tomorrow.

Murrin Murrin Operations is wholly owned by Glencore, one of the worlds largest globally diversified natural resources companies and a major producer and marketer of more than 60 commodities. Glencore employs over 145,000 people operates around 150 operating mining and processing sites, oil production assets and agricultural facilities in over 35 countries.

The Role

The successful person will become a member of a hardworking and committed team who are responsible for breakdown repairs and preventative maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment to ensure maximum equipment availability across out plant.

You will be responsible for:
  • Timely completion of electrical and instrumentation equipment repairs and preventative maintenance;
  • Undertake installation of new electrical/ instrumentation equipment under Permit to Work orders;
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant electrical and safety standards & regulations; and
  • Contribute to the effective implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of the Quality Management System.

About You

This role would suit a competent, experienced electrician/instrument technician who possesses the following qualifications and technical expertise:

You will also have:
  • Western Australian A Grade Electrical Licence
  • Cert IV Electrical Instrumentation
  • Continuous processing plant maintenance experience
  • HV switching certificate (desirable)
  • Hazardous area training/experience (desirable)
