ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT


The Strategic Sourcing & Enterprise Vendor Management department enables strong, transparent partnerships with the firms most important vendors. The team partners across the organization to evaluate suppliers, analyze total cost of ownership, and support enterprise sourcing decisions. Working here means collaborating with finance, procurement, legal, and business stakeholders to influence strategic outcomes while delivering rigorous, forward-looking financial insights that improve value and operational discipline across the firm.


HOW YOU WILL ADD VALUE


Financial Modeling & Strategic Cost Analysis
You will build multi-year financial models for sourcing initiatives.
You will analyze total cost of ownership and return on investment.
You will perform scenario and sensitivity analysis.
You will prepare executive-ready financial reports.
You will maintain accurate cost-allocation models.


Strategic Sourcing & Contract Support
You will support request for proposal and request for information processes.
You will develop supplier pricing models and scorecards.
You will support negotiations through benchmarking analysis.
You will review financial assumptions in contracts and statements of work.


Vendor Governance & Performance
You will monitor supplier performance metrics and compliance.
You will analyze cost drivers and value opportunities.
You will support vendor reviews and leadership reporting.


Reporting, Forecasting & Budgeting
You will support vendor budgeting and forecasting cycles.
You will maintain accurate vendor financial data.
You will analyze budget and forecast variances.


Process Improvement
You will identify opportunities to improve vendor financial management.
You will enhance tools, templates, and processes.
You will support procurement technology improvements.


WHAT WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE
 

Experience
35 years in financial analysis, sourcing, or vendor management.
Experience supporting procurement or strategic sourcing initiatives.
Financial services or technology procurement experience preferred.


Education & Certifications
Bachelors degree in a finance or business-related field.
Advanced degree or professional certification preferred.


Technical Skills
Advanced Excel financial modeling expertise.
Experience with financial reporting tools.
Experience with data analytics tools preferred.
Familiarity with procurement and contract lifecycle platforms.


Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Clear communicator with non-financial stakeholders.
Comfortable working independently in complex environments.


WORK SCHEDULE & LOCATION


This role works a hybrid schedule in our San Mateo, CA office. 
Franklin Templeton offers employees a competitive and valuable range of total rewardsmonetary and non-monetary designed to support their well-being and recognize their time, talents, and results.  Along with base compensation, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, a 401(k) plan with a generous match, and recognition rewards.
