The Role
This role offers the opportunity to join a SaaS/cloud-first, innovative, and fast-paced technology team within Fidelity Institutional Technology, supporting the Institutional Client Group (ICG). The team is responsible for the discovery, analysis, and delivery of client experience and servicing applications for institutional customers.
In this role, you will contribute to the development and enhancement of client servicing capabilities within the Salesforce CRM platform, helping improve the servicing model and elevate the overall client experience.
As a Software Engineer, you will work closely with experienced developers and business partners to design, build, and support scalable Salesforce solutions that enable both new and existing FAMS technology products. You will help translate business requirements into technical solutions while growing your expertise in Salesforce and enterprise application development. Key responsibilities include:
Develop and enhance Salesforce solutions supporting client servicing and business operations
Collaborate with business and technology teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions
Support integration between Salesforce and other systems using APIs and standard integration patterns
Assist with troubleshooting and resolving issues in development, testing, and production environments
Participate in code reviews and follow engineering best practices
Continuously learn and apply new Salesforce features and technologies
The Expertise & Skills You Bring
24 years of experience in software engineering development, with exposure to Salesforce preferred
Foundational knowledge of Salesforce.com (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or Communities experience is a plus)
Working knowledge of Salesforce platform development, including Apex, Lightning Components (LWC), and Flows
Familiarity with Salesforce development tools and environments (e.g., VS Code, Git, CI/CD concepts)
Basic understanding of integration patterns and REST APIs
Exposure to Salesforce data modeling and data management concepts
Experience writing Apex classes, triggers, and unit tests (or willingness to learn quickly)
Ability to contribute to multiple projects in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Experience working in Agile development environments
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to learn and grow within a fast-paced engineering team
Nice-to-have skills:
Salesforce Platform Developer I certification (or working toward certification)
Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, or Python
Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS
Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
Awareness of testing tools or practices (e.g., Provar, automated testing concepts)
Exposure to tools like Conga CLM or DocuSign
