Job summary

As finance and accounting staff member, youll perform a range of accounting activities. These include reconciliation and analysis of general ledger accounts, preparation of journal entries, and review of financial controls in accordance with established policies, procedures and statutory requirement.

Track payments and collect past due balances. You may also prepare reports and analysis of financial information, for organizational leaders.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform various accounting activities as directed by supervisors
  • Register entries on local accounting system, extract various reports as requested.
  • Follow up with accounts receivables and payables.
  • Prepare monthly VAT declarations, sale and purchase books.
  • Review payroll statutory tax filings, to verify payroll tax liabilities and/or receivables
  • Perform ad hoc research and analysis of various accounting transactions, including sub-systems.
  • Identify and communicate processing, internal control weaknesses, and/or accounting issues. Escalate these issues when necessary
  • Participate on special projects, as requested.
  • Understand and apply organizational policies and procedures, to guide decisions when analyzing accounting transactions and/or general ledger accounts.
  • Utilize available resources to make independent judgments on the appropriateness of accounting transactions. These include internal tools such as: Financa 5,SAP and ad hoc reports.They also include external resources, such as: General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), bank websites.
  • Under general supervision, resolve confidential and general accounting issues, in a way that is consistent with established policies and procedures
  • Prioritize your own assignments, follow through on commitments, and take ownership for personal and/or team results

 

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline,
  • At least 2 years prior experience in a related accounting function.
  • Proficiency in English language
  • Proficiency with computers and financial software packages.
  • Ability to successfully handle multiple tasks concurrently
