Your key responsibilities

  • Perform analysis of business requirements and develop logical and physical data models for data warehouse to support them.
  • Provide guidance in the administration of the Pentaho ETL tool including developing best practices of development, administering security, developing job scheduling and monitoring techniques, and all other system responsibility including creating, configuring and applying patch, creating projects, credential mapping, creating users, changing passwords, start stop applications activities.
  • Analyze business/functional requirements, review the solution architecture, and develop the technical architecture and detailed design.
  • Analyze data issues, identify, and articulate the business impact of data problems.
  • Perform code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural standards, guidelines, best practices, and meet quality standards.
  • Deploy the solution on a high-availability shared service production environment.
  • Understand and comply with the established software development life cycle methodology.
  • Establish and enhance technical guidelines and best practices for the integration development team.
  • Utilize subject matter expertise in area of enterprise applications, solutions to evaluate complex, sensitive business problems and architect technical solutions.
  • Keep current with industry technologies and tools in the integration domain.
  • Suggest and implement best practices to Optimize ETL processes for performance and scalability. This includes tuning data transformations and load processes to handle large volumes of data efficiently.
  • Document ETL processes, data flows, and system architecture. Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation and Architectural artefacts for future reference and troubleshooting.
  • Design ETL processes that comply with data governance and security policies. Implement measures to protect sensitive data and maintain compliance with relevant regulations.

Your skills and experience

Technical Skills

  • Pentaho Data Integration (PDI): Proficiency in using Pentaho tools for designing, developing, and managing ETL processes.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL for querying databases and performing data manipulation.
  • Data Warehousing: expertise in implementation of data warehousing concepts, including data modeling, schema design, and data marts.
  • Experience with other ETL tools like Informatica, Talend, or SSIS can be beneficial.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, or VBA for scripting and automation
  • Knowledge of database design, RESTful APIs, and working with various database systems
  • Skills in data profiling, data analysis, and ensuring data quality.
