The Chief Financial Office (Finance) team oversees all financial details of Deutsche Bank Luxembourg working in partnership with colleagues across the world; this includes financial reporting, regulatory reporting, and Tax.

Role Description

The Finance Senior Analyst will ensure timely and accurate financial and regulatory reporting in line with regulatory and statutory requirements.

They will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and in collaboration with other Finance Managers and relevant stakeholders across several Deutsche Bank Locations to provide insightful advice to our businesses and financial analysis of their performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate financial and regulatory reporting in line with applicable internal policies and external regulatory and statutory frameworks (across multiple accounting GAAPs).

  • Manage accounting and financial risk by implementing and continually improving key controls and providing advice and guidance to shape strategic initiatives and support the approval of new products / transactions in the entities & businesses within their remit.

  • Develop and drive the implementation of innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency and control framework for Finance Reporting processes, this will involve owning several projects both locally and cross-country at an EMEA level.

  • Support the Head of Group Financial Reporting and the CFO with analytical review of Monthly Financial performance against internal targets both financial and regulatory capital.

  • Partner with other Finance Managers in Luxembourg / Finance partners in other locations and Business contacts to prepare the rolling 5-year strategic plan.

Skills:

  • At least 5 years of experience in banking, including sound understanding of lending and private banking products; relevant experience in financial services industry required.

  • Strong accounting skills (Primarily IFRS, but Lux GAAP is desirable); a solid grasp of accounting for financial instruments. Degree in accounting or related field and / or professional accounting qualification.

  • Good understanding of Audit control frameworks.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ownership – prioritization and track record in delivering effective solutions to financial and risk processes or modelling problems.

  • Well organized and capable of handling multiple objectives and stakeholders.

  • Cooperative yet assertive and challenging approach required by our partners.

  • Proactive and enthusiastic team player required.

  • Track record of developing / leading process improvements – taking ownership for process improvements (e.g. booking – ledger – management reporting; accounting systems).

  • Evidence of rigorous adherence to and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • The role is required to be mainly performed on-site at Deutsche Bank offices in Luxembourg, with teleworking options available.
