We are currently looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Financial Control Department in Warsaw. In this role, you will become part of a local finance team and work closely with stakeholders across different locations on financial reporting, accounting, and both local and Group-wide projects.

Your responsibilities
In this role, you will support a broad range of accounting, reporting, and tax-related activities, while also contributing to period-end processes, audits, and ongoing improvements across the function.
We are looking for a curious, proactive, and team-oriented colleague who is motivated to learn, handles assigned tasks, and brings a collaborative mindset to the team. As the branch continues to grow and this role evolves, you should be comfortable with new responsibilities, switching between priorities, and maintaining a clear overview of deadlines and deliverables.
The workplace is located in Warsaw, Poland. Danske Bank supports workplace flexibility (we currently use a hybrid work model, where we work at least 3-4 days in the office).
This role does not include a relocation allowance for candidates who are not based in Poland.
You will:
- Verify and post accounting documents, including sales and purchase invoices, accruals, payroll
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and support the preparation of data for the financial statement
- Calculate taxes and prepare tax returns/declarations, including VAT, PCC, WHT, IFT-2R, and MDR-3
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules, review contracts and calculate leases in accordance with IFRS 16
- Participating in period-end closing processes, support internal and external audits,
- Assist in the preparation of monthly balance sheet, profit and loss statement and cash flow statement
- Contribute to the standardization and improvement of accounting processes and to new projects
About you:
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or postgraduate studies in Accounting
- 3+ years of solid accounting and tax experience
- Good knowledge of tax regulations and financial law
- Ability to work independently with accounting systems,
- Very good MS Excel skills
- Accuracy, reliability, and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
- Proficiency in Polish and B2 level English skills, both written and spoken
