Location: Vilnius, Lithuania

Enter the world of Global Insights department responsible for Process analytics in Danske Bank. We create clear, data-driven reports to support the organisation with Process Performance Management Tableau reports and data products. We invite you to become a part of our department, which is renowned as the Business Intelligence powerhouse. Our core aspiration and strategic objective is to unlock value from modern data reporting and visualization solutions on a grand scale.

As an infrastructure architect you will own and evolve the data platform supporting organization-wide Process Performance Management reporting portfolio. You will manage our existing SQL Server infrastructure, lead the ongoing migration to Databricks and ensure that our data systems meet security, compliance and disaster recovery standards. This is a hands-on role combining architecture, development and cross-team collaboration you will be the primary technical authority for the platform's data layer.

Key responsibilities:

  • Data platform ownership: manage and maintain the whole SQL server data infrastructure from database design and ETL processes through to the reporting and data consumption
  • Cloud migration: lead the architectural design and execution of migrating SQL server workloads to Databricks, implementing a medallion-layer (Bronze/Silver/Gold) lakehouse architecture
  • Data modelling: design and maintain logical and physical data models that support complex analytical and reporting needs
    CI/CD & DevOps: build and maintain automated deployment pipelines for data assets, including version control, testing and release management
  • Security, compliance & recovery: author and enforce secure development guidelines. Create, validate and maintain service recovery plans. Continuously identify and resolve platform vulnerabilities
  • Documentation & governance: produce clear technical documentation for architecture decisions, data flows and operational procedures. Drive data quality and governance practices
  • Collaboration: gather requirements from business and technical teams, present architectural designs, and communicate trade-offs clearly to non-technical audiences

Required skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in acting as Data architect, Senior data engineer or similar role
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft SQL Server database design, T-SQL development, ETL/ELT and performance optimization.
  • Experience designing scalable data models for analytical reporting
  • Practical experience with Databricks (Spark SQL, Delta Lake)
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines for database and data platform deployments (e.g., Git, GitHub Actions)
  • Solid understanding of data security, vulnerability management and disaster recovery planning
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation and communicate effectively across teams

Preferred technologies and skills:

  • dbt (data build tool) for data transformation and testing
  • Python for scripting, data engineering and automation
  • Understanding of data governance and data quality frameworks

Monthly salary range from 5600 EUR to 8400 EUR gross (based on competencies relevant to the role).
