Job Overview

The Data Quality Senior Lead is accountable for the management and execution of continuous Data Quality standards, controls, metrics, and Data Exception Management. This role oversees firm-wide controls, setting parameters and guidelines for measurement, evaluation, adoption, and communications of Data Quality and Data Quality risk. This role will work alongside data-producing teams to monitor and certify authoritative data sources and remediate data concerns. This role may serve as the subject matter expert for the end-to-end management of exceptions generated from Data Quality Rules, Transaction Testing, and/or Reconciliation based exceptions, responsible for the expert triage, in-depth root cause analysis, and coordinated resolution of these complex, often multi-system, data breaks.

Responsibilities: 

  • End-to-End Exception Management:Manage the full lifecycle of data exceptions related to Data Quality Rule, Transaction Testing and/or Reconciliations, including classification, root cause analysis, issue prioritization, and the development and execution of remediation plans to implement effective tactical and strategic solutions.

  • Stakeholder & Relationship Management:Manage senior relationships with Data stakeholders across the firm to develop, execute, and implement Data Quality management capabilities. Liaise with various business and technology areas to understand data challenges, drive data quality resolution, and lead data improvement initiatives.

  • Project & Initiative Leadership:Lead project management activities for the resolution of complex exceptions, creating presentation materials and providing status updates to support senior management's strategic vision.

  • Metrics, Reporting, and Escalation:Oversee the consumption of metrics and reporting related to assigned exception types. Ensure all Data Quality issues are accurately reported and escalated through Citis official Data/Issue management processes.

  • Risk & Control Adherence:Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firms reputation and safeguarding Citigroup. Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations by adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment, and escalating control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience, Banking or Finance industry preferred

  • Experience defining and implementing data quality programs

  • Communicates effectively, develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences; able to drive consensus, and influence relationships at all levels

  • Collaborates effectively by building partnerships and working well with others to meet shared objectives

  • Strong negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills across a variety of stakeholders at different levels

  • Optimizes work processes by balancing effective / efficient processes with a focus on continuous improvement. Demonstrates ability to balance between seeing the big picture while paying close attention to detail

  • Organizational savvy: understands systems, management processes, knows where to go for information and how to interpret them.

Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
