Focus: JV Financial Control, Cost Governance & Funding Assurance
Role Purpose
Provide Finance Control oversight and assurance across Brazil PSC ventures and joint arrangements, with a focus on cost governance, funding subject area, and financial performance insights.
The role works in close partnership with FBT / FP&A, Treasury, Procurement, PCO, Tax and Operations to review, challenge, and complement operational close and forecast activities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with PSC/JOA requirements.
This role supports the Senior Finance Control Advisor by strengthening governance, analytical depth, and decision support, enabling effective partner concern and value protection.
Key Accountabilities
1. Financial Control Oversight & Close Assurance
- Partner with FBT / FP&A to review and challenge periodend financial outcomes for PSC ventures and joint arrangements.
- Perform control reviews of key reconciliations, analytical schedules, and variances, focusing on accuracy, consistency, and PSC/JOA compliance.
- Ensure completeness and quality of supporting documentation for reporting packs, management reviews, governance forums, and audit readiness.
2. Cost Governance, Classification & Allocations (PSC Framework)
- Apply PSC cost classification principles to validate capitalization vs expense treatment and cost recovery eligibility.
- Act as a control point for cost coding consistency, reviewing alignment across SAP, POs, AFEs, invoices, Ballots, and operational trackers.
- Review and challenge people cost and allocation methodologies, assessing reasonableness, documentation quality, and PSC substantiation.
3. Cash Calls, Funding & WP&B Assurance
- Maintain and review cash call and expenditure reconciliation schedules, focusing on governance, accuracy, and alignment with approved WP&B.
- Analyze actuals vs approved spend trends, identifying deviations, risks, and timing misalignments for critical issue.
- Support funding subject area by reviewing analytical support for funding notices, cash forecasts and value dates, ensuring consistency with operator accounting, approved budgets, and contracts.
Experience:
Seasoned finance professional with deep-rooted Oil & Gas industry expertise. Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams.
Qualifications: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels to effectively manage multi-disciplinary scopes of work.
Education: Bachelor of Accounting. Fluent in English.
Key Competencies
Strong expertise in financial reporting processes.
Ability to review and challenge financial data and variance analysis, providing insightful guidance for decision-making.
Solidi knowledge of IFRS and oil & gas accounting
Deep understanding of PSC cost classification and cost recovery frameworks, and Joint Venture (JOA) financial governance.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
