The Sourcing Manager supports various BP businesses with a range of medium-high, low complexity and strategic sourcing & contracting activities. In addition to sourcing, this role is responsible for developing supplier relationships, proactively identifying value opportunities and providing professional guidance to the broader team under their leadership.
This includes demand management, definition of sourcing strategy based on a predefined category framework, source selection, contract negotiation, and contract creation & opalization via CLM.
The role contains leadership responsibilities; the Sourcing Manager will manage a team of sourcing leads and sourcing analysts and look after key partner relations and act as point for escalation.
The ideal candidate has a strong team leadership background, extensive experience in Marketing related services and commodities, managing sourcing projects and proven knowledge of the given spend categories and marketplace, coupled with a strong commercial orientation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
In this role You will:
Driving and increasing value for BP across the spend categories and activities managed
Ongoing tracking and reporting of value delivery (eg. savings)
Operational Excellence by ensuring stable, effective and customer-focused service delivery
Effective management of the activity triage & workflow with the Business Partners, resource allocation and backup
Constantly achieving and delivering against the agreed Performance objectives incl. the respective Key Performance Indicators
Ensuring effective escalation management in line with the agreed operating model
Ensuring processes are embedded & adhered to consistently
Ensuring team process and procedure documentations are maintained captured real-time
Take an innovative approach and lead continuous process improvement initiatives Working closely with other leaders in the Procurement organization
Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with key collaborators at all levels within the organisation, customers and external service providers
Follow BPs Code of Conduct, taking a professional and disciplined approach to working with suppliers, to ensure transparency, consistency and fairness. Our procurement and supply chain management principles are always applied within that framework and in the context of relevant laws and regulations
Monitoring and assuring compliance to BP Business Controls and SOX requirements
Ensuring all processes are aligned with relevant ISO accreditation
Ensure activities stay in sync with all the Company's Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) policies and procedures
The Sourcing Manager will have people management responsibilities, conduct performance appraisals and performance management
The job holder is expected to provide coaching and professional guidance to their wider Team and proactively contribute to the development of sourcing capability and knowledge in S2C Procurement
As leader of the team, role model effective sourcing execution via being involved and managing complex sourcing projects incl. supplier negotiations
Active involvement in task allocation and workload management of the team
If delegated by the Sourcing Manager, will be point of escalation in the Team in specific categories/subcategories or regions supported
Effectively represent the Team in the respective categories in conversations with our partners and suppliers
Represent the Team and support junior team members in communication and engagement
Drive and coordinate issue resolution in complex scenarios propose improvement initiatives that result long term solution
Drive usage of effective and up-to-date procurement techniques, tools and digital technologies, AI
What You will need to be successful:
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience is required (preferably in business studies)
Demonstrated experience in sourcing products and/or services
Category specific experience (Marketing and related goods and services)
Proven experience in people/team-leadership, preferably in a multinational/global environment
Experience with e-procurement, AI productivity and autonomous procurement solutions, workflow tools (Salesforce) and ERP systems, eg. Ariba is an advantage
Broad understanding of negotiation strategies & techniques coupled with strong negotiation skills
Excellent written & oral communication skill in English
Highly motivated and ambitious to drive value and Business partnering
Strong business attitude and commercial skill
Strong and proven stakeholder relationship management skills in engaging senior management
Passion to motivate, develop and retain people
Transformational mentality and ability to inspire change
Good time management, prioritisation and organisation skills

Desirable criteria:
Knowledge in an additional European language is an advantage, not a must: German, Polish, Spanish, or Portuguese
Knowledge of Media/Creative operational buying is of great value
Master Business Administration (MBA)
