Job Description:

The Sourcing Manager is accountable for managing complex sourcing programs and supporting the respective BP businesses.

  • This includes development of the sourcing strategy and the approach to market based on predefined category strategies, source selection, contract negotiation and creation.
  • The job holder is responsible for leading highly complex sourcing projects within the C&P (Customer and Products) indirect categories.
  • Although this is an individual contributor role, it will have a strong impact through managing high-value, complex projects and managing global or regional third parties and senior business stakeholders.
  • The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in managing sourcing projects, along with proven expertise in the relevant spend categories. This should be complemented by strong commercial competence, excellent communication skills, and effective stakeholder management.

In this role You will:

  • Enhancing value for BP across the managed spend categories and related activities
  • Leading complex sourcing projects, RFX activities, commercial and contract negotiations with strategic suppliers in the area of Retail Asset, Convenience Retail, Marketing, Logistics or Retail Payments categories. 
  • Ongoing tracking and reporting of value delivery (eg. savings)
  • Operational Excellence by ensuring stable, effective and customer-focused service delivery
  • Effective management of sourcing cases and partner management with the Business Partners
  • Constantly achieving and delivering against the agreed Performance objectives incl. the respective Key Performance Indicators
  • Ensure compliance in all processes and aligned with relevant ISO accreditation & assisting to the preparation for future accreditation
  • Ensure processes are embedded & adhered consistently
  • Drive the evolution of the processes managed and foster the continuous improvement mind-set and culture
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key partners at all levels within the organisation, customers and external service providers
  • Monitor and assuring compliance to bp Business Controls
  • Proactively develop sourcing and contracting capabilities, competencies and abilities to support bp the best strategy and growth agenda
  • Provide coaching for the team members to unlock their potential and support their development
  • Present result and share best guidelines in larger team meetings
  • Populate the usage of new tools and practices use AI solutions to quickly adapt to changing market environment

What You need to be successful:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience is required (preferably in business studies)
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in sourcing products and/or services, preferably in multi-national global environment
  • Category-specific experience in indirect categories, preference within C&P categories such as Retail Asset, Convenience Retail, Marketing, Logistics or Retail Payments
  • Approach to manage complex, sourcing programs with senior partners on global or multi-regional basis.
  • Experience with e-procurement, workflow tools (Salesforce) and ERP systems, eg. Ariba is an advantage
  • Excellent written & verbal communication in English is a must.
  • Highly motivated and ambitious to drive value generation to the Business Partners
  • Strong business and entrepreneur mind-set
  • Strong and proven stakeholder relationship management skills including experience in engaging senior management levels
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across a global matrix organisations
  • Proven experience in coaching and leading a team with scale and complexity
  • Transformational approach and ability to inspire change
  • Ability to make decisions in a complex, sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Strong skills in time management, project management, analytical-thinking, prioritization, and organization
  • Broad understanding of negotiation strategies & techniques coupled with strong negotiation skills

  • High Level of IT proficiency technical savvy, especially AI based solutions
  • A reasonable level of critical thinking and ability to convert a vision & ideas into tangible actions is desirable
