The Internal Investment Consultant serves in a consultative role to clients and prospects, exercising the best way to achieve their short and long-term strategic objectives through the firm’s investment solutions. Our clients are financial advisors at broker dealers and independent broker dealers inside the United States. This role is located in New York.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Working both independently and as a team to identify, evaluate and pursue new business opportunities and protect / grow existing client relationships within North American Distribution Channel.
  • Driving revenue in BNY investment vehicles alongside external investment consultant in a geographic territory.
  • Conducting consultative, relationship-building sales outreach via phone, email and virtual engagements with financial advisors and other licensed professionals to educate them on BNY investment vehicles.
  • Developing sound sales process and strategy that’s focused on servicing existing clients, uncovering opportunities via prospecting and revenue generating activities.
  • Ensuring that you and your sales partner are creating awareness of BNY’s investment, value add and partnership capabilities inside your territory.
  • Generating hypothetical/proposals for advisors inside Morningstar, Zephyr, Pinpoint of BNY Investments Mutual Funds, ETF’s and separately managed accounts.
  • Developing relationships with internal business partners to support your sales effort.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required – Finance/Business/Economics preferred.
  • Understanding of financial/capital markets; mutual funds, ETF’s and SMA’s a plus
  • Excellent and proven presentation, organization, and time management skills.
  • Coachable, adaptable, creative, and desire to be a part of a team with common interests in financial markets.
  • Ability to work independently and as a teammate in a fast-paced, collaborative, sales-driven environment.
  • Ability to consistently have high volume of proactive phone and email activity.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $52,000 and $63,500 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
