BlackRock Capital Markets (BCM) is a centralized platform for the firms public capital markets activities. BCM Partners with investment teams to enable performance through high quality sourcing of investment opportunities. It is a holistic, comprehensive investment platform that provides solutions across the capital stack. BCM helps to deploy public and private capital in portfolios across the full BlackRock platform. BCM sits within the BlackRock Global Markets and Index Investments business. BlackRock Global Markets and Index Investments (BGM) brings together BlackRocks Index Investments, Cash Management, Global Trading, ETF Markets, Capital Markets, Securities Lending, and Financing & Financial Resource Management businesses. Together, we provide clients with superior market access and index investment outcomes.

Role Overview:

BlackRock is seeking a Debt Syndicate Associate in EMEA, to be based in London.  The individual will have responsibility for becoming proficient in core business functions to manage our capital markets activity across public debt markets. There will be an opportunity to gain a broad skill toolkit through deep understanding of the markets in which BCM operates; management of, and communications with, key internal stakeholders and external counterparties and issuers; understanding of operational structures and processes with the support to develop efficiencies to such processes. The Associate will report to the EMEA Head of DCM. 

Responsibilities:

  • Daily management of capital markets processes in debt; including building pipeline, dissemination of new deal information and coordination with internal and external counterparties on live deals
  • Aggregate feedback from different investment teams and engage with issuers and Investment Banks to negotiate the best outcome for participating BLK funds
  • Learn and manage a variety of compliance and business reporting systems and processes
  • Track and prepare Weekly / Quarterly / Annual reporting metrics
  • Fundamental company analysis to drive investment idea generation
  • Assist the team in evaluating unique investment opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Debt Capital Markets
  • Understanding of the financial services landscape
  • Natural curiosity and a willingness to learn
  • Ability to multi-task in a time sensitive, fast paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Self-starter who can work effectively with a team and within a larger organization
  • Proficient technology orientation (Strong Excel skills required; the following a plus: VBA, SQL, & Tableau)
