Were seeking a Market Data Engineer to work closely with Front Office, Quant, Data Engineering, Vendor Management, and Governance teams, to bridge business requirements and technical delivery, whilst shaping how market data is sourced, modelled, hydrated, and consumed across the firm. Ensuring market data is accurate, consistent, governed, and fitforpurpose across asset classes and use cases.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Be an experienced market data domain expert with comprehensive knowledge of the market data vendor landscape, including products, platforms, and commercial models across leading providers

  • Have previous experience operating as a consumer and within vendor organisations (e.g. LSEG), bringing rare insight into vendor internals, data pipelines and client integration challenges

  • Experience with frontoffice trading use cases and how market data is sourced, controlled, and leveraged across asset classes

Other skills that would be useful in this role include:

  • Previous experience working with Market Data Store (MDS) and associated platforms

  • Financial Services/Investment banking background

  • Experience collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, including business, technology, and senior leaders

This role is based out of our London office.

Purpose of the role

To build and maintain the systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes to ensure that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure. 

Accountabilities

  • Build and maintenance of data architectures pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data.
  • Design and implementation of data warehoused and data lakes that manage the appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to the required security measures.
  • Development of processing and analysis algorithms fit for the intended data complexity and volumes.
  • Collaboration with data scientist to build and deploy machine learning models.

  • To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. Collaborate closely with other functions/ business divisions.
  • Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function.   • Communicate complex information. 'Complex' information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
