What will you be doing?

Barclays Capital Inc. seeks Assistant VP Global Markets (multiple positions) in New York, NY:

  • Develop and maintain analytics and models for securitized products in the context of standardizing scenario definitions to support full revaluation in the VAR and Stress testing risk management applications for Securitized products.

  • Support all Securitized Products and Finance trading desks in support analytics requirements relating to pricing and risk management tools.

  • Work closely with other QA teams engaged with Market and Credit risk in creating requirements and supporting their needs for analytics, modelling or coordinating with other teams to help solve a problem.

  • Work with stakeholders of securitized products analytics, including market risk managers, model risk management, finance, product controls, and technology teams on testing and delivery of analytics and models.

  • Work with other teams within the broader organization of QA to ensure the consistency and compliance to the standards established for analytics code and delivery of analytics.

  • Work on Securitized Products analytics and model documentation to ensure compliance with model risk regulatory requirements.

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $160,000.00 per year

Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $175,000.00 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

This position is eligible for incentives pursuant to Barclays Employee Referral Program.

Purpose of the role

To provide quantitative and analytical expertise to support trading strategies, risk management, and decision-making within the investment banking domain, applying quantitative analysis, mathematical modelling, and technology to optimise trading and investment opportunities. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and implementation of quantitative models and strategies to derive insight into market trends and optimize trading decisions, pricing, and risk management across various financial products and markets.
  • Working closely with sales teams to identify clients' needs and develop customised solutions.
  • In-depth research, data analysis, and statistical modelling to derive insights into market trends, pricing, and risk dynamics.
  • Provide front office infrastructure support though ownership and maintenance of analytical libraries.
  • Provision of expertise on quantitative methodologies, technological advancements, and industry best practices to drive innovation within the trading environment.

Assistant Vice President Expectations

  • To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. Collaborate closely with other functions/ business divisions.
  • Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function. Set objectives and coach employees in pursuit of those objectives, appraisal of performance relative to objectives and determination of reward outcomes
