The Financial Reporting & Business Control Specialist is responsible for preparing, consolidating, and presenting the company's financial statements and reports. They play a key role in communicating financial performance to management, investors, and regulatory bodies. The role consists in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and consistency of financial reports while also maintaining precise and effective management control. They oversee the preparation of financial statements, analyze variances, and ensure adherence to accounting standards. Additionally, they play a crucial role in monitoring performance, managing key indicators, and continuously improving control processes. The role is part of a broader activity transfer initiative concerning the management of business travel, which is currently handled by the UK entity. This involves supporting the transition process, ensuring the continuity and accuracy of reporting and control activities during the transfer, and aligning processes across entities to facilitate a smooth handover. What youll be doing: Technical expertise and regulatory compliance Possess in-depth understanding of current accounting and tax regulations. Implement processes to ensure compliance and anticipate regulatory changes. Advanced financial analysis and strategic advising Provide detailed financial analyses to support strategic decision-making by management. Identify opportunities for optimization or risk reduction. Support for audits and compliance Prepare and verify documentation required for internal and external audits. Ensure reporting compliance with applicable standards and regulations. Mentoring and skills development Coach and train less experienced analysts or team members. Share best practices and contribute to team skill enhancement. Regulatory and technological watch Stay updated on regulatory, normative, and technological developments in financial reporting. Documentation and internal controls management Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of reporting processes. Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure data quality and integrity. Production and consolidation of complex financial statements Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial reports in compliance with accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP, etc.). Ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of financial data. Management of transformation projects and process improvements Lead or contribute to projects related to digitalization, automation of reporting, or migration to new reporting tools. Manage budgets and forecasts: Participate in the development and monitoring of the annual budget, adjusting forecasts based on observed variances Participate in continuous process improvement: automation, simplification, and internal controls to strengthen data reliability and relevance. Produce and analyze periodic reports: monthly, quarterly, yearly reporting, with commentary and recommendations. Monitor and analyze financial and operational performance: manage KPIs, margins, profitability, and other key indicators to support decision-making Collect, analyze, and track financial and operational data within a defined scope to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement. What youll bring: Accounting standards: In-depth expertise in IFRS, GAAP, or other applicable accounting frameworks. Advanced financial reporting: Proficiency in preparing, consolidating, and analyzing complex financial reports. Specialized tools and software: Advanced mastery of Excel (complex formulas, macros, pivot tables), consolidation software (HFM, SAP BPC, etc.), ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), and Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau). Regulatory standards: Deep understanding of regulatory requirements regarding financial reporting and audits. Ability to analyze complex financial data and identify discrepancies or anomalies. Skill in developing sophisticated financial models and dashboards for reporting. Strong project management skills related to transformation, automation, or process improvement initiatives Expertise in adhering to regulatory standards, internal controls, and audit processes. Ability to anticipate and manage risks related to financial compliance. Ability to explain technical analyses to non-specialists, and the ability to synthesize information. Effective collaboration with internal teams (accounting, audit, management control) and external stakeholders (auditors, regulators). Rigor, accuracy, and attention to detail. Experience in management control, financial reporting, and performance management. Education, Professional Qualifications and Experience Masters degree (or equivalent) in Finance/accounting 5 to 10 years of professional experience in finance or accounting, with specific expertise in financial reporting, consolidation, and managing complex projects.
