Role Summary:
We are looking for a POS QA Analyst to support Point of Sale testing, release validation, defect documentation, and production support activities. The role will initially focus on functional POS test execution, test evidence collection, UAT coordination, and business scenario validation. Over time, the candidate will be expected to build deeper knowledge of POS payment flows, transaction log analysis, and support triage. The role requires working onsite at the client location in San Ramon, CA, from Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and execute functional POS test cases based on the business requirements.
Gradually build knowledge of POS transaction flows, payment processing, settlement, and downstream reporting.
Validate core POS flows such as sales, refunds, voids, tenders, receipts, discounts, restricted items, loyalty, and basic payment scenarios.
Support POS release testing by documenting test results, capturing evidence, and reporting execution status.
Assist in User Acceptance Testing coordination, including test data preparation, scenario walkthroughs, and validation support.
Review business requirements, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria to understand testing scope.
Identify, document, and track defects with clear steps to reproduce, expected results, actual results, screenshots, receipts, and supporting evidence.
Work with QA leads, business stakeholders, development teams, and client vendor teams to clarify issues and support defect resolution.
Participate in POS support activities by helping analyze reported issues and gathering required details for triage.
Learn to review transaction logs with guidance, including basic fields such as transaction ID, timestamp, store/register details, amount, tender type, response code, authorization code, and error messages.
The role requires working onsite at the client location in San Ramon, CA, from Monday to Friday.
