About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Software Engineer.


In this role, you will:

  • Participate in low to moderately complex initiatives and projects associated with the technology domain, including installation, upgrades, and deployment efforts
  • Identify opportunities for service quality and availability improvements within the technology domain environment
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for low to moderately complex projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
  • Review and analyze technical assignments or challenges that are related to low to medium risk deliverables and that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternative technology domains
  • Present recommendations for resolving issues or may escalate issues as needed to meet established service level agreements
  • Exercise some independent judgment while also developing understanding of given technology domain in reference to security and compliance requirements
  • Provide information to technology colleagues, internal partners, and stakeholders


Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education



Desired Qualifications:

  • Hands-on software engineering experience across the full development lifecycle including design, development, testing, debugging, and documentation of enterprise-grade systems.
  • Experience working as an individual contributor in agile software development teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate functional and technical requirements into working code.
  • Hands-on experience developing microservices-based applications, preferably supporting high-volume or transactionintensive workloads.
  • Experience designing and developing applications using MongoDB, Oracle and PostgreSQL.
  • Working knowledge of data modeling principles, especially for MongoDB-backed applications:
    • Designing efficient and scalable document schemas
    • Understanding normalization vs. denormalization tradeoffs
    • Applying indexing strategies and using aggregation pipelines
    • Supporting schema evolution, backward compatibility, and migrations
  • Experience using Hibernate and JPA for data access.
  • Exposure to document generation and customer communication technologies, including:
    • OpenText Exstream (template design concepts, data mapping, output generation)
    • Java libraries such as Apache PDFBox and iText
    • Python libraries such as ReportLab, FPDF, or WeasyPrint
  • Understanding of generating datadriven documents such as PDFs, statements, notices, or letters.
  • Familiarity with document concerns including template versioning, formatting standards, localization, and output validation.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Java
    • Spring Framework / Spring Boot
    • Hibernate, JPA
    • Kafka
    • Object Storage
  • Exposure to UI frameworks such as Angular or React is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Kafka for messaging and streaming, including use of AVRO schemas.
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with API management platforms such as Apigee.
  • Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks:
    • JUnit
    • Karate
    • Cucumber
  • Familiarity with TDD and BDD practices, including writing unit, integration, and API tests.
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
  • Exposure to:
    • Liquibase for database change management
    • Harness or similar deployment tools
    • BlueGreen deployments
  • Basic understanding of monitoring and observability using tools like Grafana and AppDynamics.
