About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Originations Director to develop external introducer relationships, and to source, structure, negotiate and close Asset Based Lending facilities in the UK, based in the London. The role will compliment an existing team, which is well known and well regarded in our market.


In this role, you will:

  • Act as an advisor to senior leadership to develop or influence long-term goals for highly complex business and technical needs across Commercial Banking or Corporate & Investment Banking
  • Lead the sourcing of new clients or growing of existing relationships for a given product or specialty in close coordination with coverage teams
  • Understand clients businesses, strategic objectives, operational priorities, and financial positions within the context of individual deals and client relationships
  • Partner with client teams to independently work on client transactions and advise on peer transactions, including highly complex, larger, and multi-product financing opportunities, including analyzing potential opportunities, structuring, proposing, and selling tailored financial solutions to clients, strategically leading internal coordination, and submitting transactions to management or independent risk for approval
  • Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
  • Partner with product management functional partners to provide vision, direction, and expertise to leadership on evolving market needs to enable the innovation, design, and delivery of credit solutions more effectively, including large-scale, cross-functional, or companywide strategies
  • Serve as a mentor for less experienced individuals

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in secured or specialized lending sales, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Qualified by Experience: having been immersed in the UK ABL market, preferably in a UK clearing bank or US ABL shop in the UK.
  • Demonstrable track record of originating, structuring, and closing complex UK ABL transactions. 


Job Expectations:

  • Ideally based in the south-east of England and working in the London market, the role will be to develop and maintain relationships in this region, but will also have responsibilities covering the whole of the UK alongside existing team members.
  • The position will suit someone who values the ability to work independently in a focused, self-managed environment and in varied settings while maintaining strong relationships with different business stakeholders.
  • Hybrid working model, with an expectation to be in the office in London three days per week.
