Full Job Description

As the Infrastructure Security and Patching Program Manager, you will support an enterprise-scale program focused on strengthening Vanguards infrastructure security and vulnerability remediation capabilities. This role is critical to enhancing the organizations resiliency and enabling a faster, more effective response to an increasingly complex threat landscape, including emerging risks driven by frontier AI technologies. You will operate within Global Technology Operations (GTO), partnering across cybersecurity, infrastructure, and engineering teams to drive initiatives that improve remediation velocity, reduce risk exposure, and ensure the stability and availability of Vanguards technology platforms. Core Responsibilities

  • Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Manages cross-divisional technology-related programs or multiple technology-related workstreams within a larger program. Drives all phases of the project lifecycle from inception through implementation while ensuring that business objectives are delivered with high quality and within targeted timeframes.
  • Creates and maintains a multi-year program strategy that clearly identifies specific actions and tasks needed to achieve future state goals. Provides written and verbal communication to many different audiences within Vanguard on the status of the program.
  • Builds and maintains strategic relationships across sites, departments, divisions, and internal and external partners to support their program initiatives. Develops strong relationships with program leadership, sponsors, and workstream leads.
  • Ensures all steps are taken to mitigate risk and maintains control, compliance, audit, and legal requirements for technology projects. Integrates and oversees change management efforts across the overall program. Closely monitors program costs and budget and escalates cost variances appropriately and timely.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of eight years of progressively responsible and related business experience, with at least four years of technical project management experience. Previous people-leadership experience preferred.
  • Four years leading complex technical programs or initiatives. Previous people-leadership experience preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree in related field (Computer Science, Engineering) required. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead large, cross-functional efforts in a matrixed organization
  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working within infrastructure, operations, or enterprise technology environments
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience
  • CISSP certification is a plus
