Job Profile Summary

As part of Risk Australia, this role provides enterprise risk expertise to the Vanguard Investments Australia Personal Investor business, including Vanguard Super. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Divisional Risk, the role partners closely with senior stakeholders across Personal Investor, the Office of the Superannuation Trustee (OST), and functions including Legal, Compliance, Internal Audit, and Finance to ensure risk considerations are embedded in business decisionmaking.

The role is pivotal in strengthening secondline risk management practices and fostering a strong riskaware culture across the Personal Investor division. You will act as a trusted advisor, enabling sound risk outcomes while supporting the division to pursue strategic objectives within agreed risk appetite.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and support risk assessments to enable informed decisionmaking across Personal Investor and Vanguard Super.

  • Proactively identify, assess, and manage risks, issues, and events, and drive timely resolution through effective stakeholder engagement.

  • Maintain and monitor the risk profile for Personal Investor and Vanguard Super in alignment with enterprise risk frameworks and risk appetite.

  • Identify and prioritise emerging risks, recommend pragmatic remediation strategies, and clearly communicate impacts and plans to stakeholders.

  • Support the VSPL Trustee Board and Committees in meeting risk management obligations through the development, maintenance, and ongoing application of the Risk Management Framework (RMF).

  • Support the timely review and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, and practical application.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships across Vanguard Super and Vanguard Investments Australia, reinforcing effective risk governance, accountability, and risk culture.

  • Contribute to divisional and enterprisewide initiatives and special projects as required.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree required.

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience, with strong exposure to risk management, second line or advisory experience preferred.

  • Familiarity with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) systems and risk frameworks is advantageous.
