JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview

We are seeking an experienced lawyer (7+ years PQE) to join our European Legal team, with a focus on corporate and commercial legal matters within a regulated financial services environment. This role sits within the legal team to support a broad range of business functions, providing pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice across corporate, commercial, regulation and governance matters relevant to a trading firm.

You will be able to interact with all levels of management within and outside of Susquehanna and must be able to exercise independent judgment and provide practical advice.

If you join us, you will be:

  • Reviewing, documenting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts necessary to support Susquehannas businesses, including trading, data and technology agreements.
  • Advising on corporate law and governance matters, including Irish company, board governance, corporate structuring and intra-group arrangements.
  • Assisting on business and regulatory projects, drafting and implementation of legal and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Proactively identifying and evaluating legal risks associated with new businesses, transactions and markets.
  • Working with Susquehannas Compliance Function to ensure our compliance with relevant regulatory obligations including advising on applicable regulatory frameworks, supporting engagement with regulators.
  • Identifying and managing legal risk across business initiatives, contracts and operational activities
  • Advising on all other legal issues relevant to the businesses operated, including company law, gaming, corporate governance, corporate transactions, AI and data protection.  
  • Reports to Susquehanna European Head of Legal.

What we're looking for
  • At least 7 years PQE with strong experience in corporate and commercial law.
  • Securities, financial services and/or regulatory related legal experience desirable but not essential. 
  • Experience either in-house within a financial services or regulated business, or in private practice advising financial institutions or corporates
  • Must have strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on teamwork and communication.
  • Strong academic credentials and superior writing and analytical skills.
