The Team:

The Equity Data value stream at S&P Dow Jones Indices manages all data related to securities and their corporate actions. This includes collecting, validating, and updating information on stocks and related instruments. The team processes corporate actions like mergers, splits, and dividends to ensure data accuracy. They maintain the security master, a centralized database that serves as the foundation for all company products. Their work ensures that indices and analytics are built on reliable, up-to-date data. The team collaborates closely with other departments to support index calculation, rebalance and client needs. This role is critical for maintaining data integrity and supporting the companys product offerings.

Responsibilities and Impact:

The Manager: Reference Data and Security Master is accountable for designing and delivering a unified Security Master that serves as the single source of truth for security reference data across products. This includes defining the canonical data model (IDs, classifications, instrument terms, listings/venues, issuer links, and lifecycle states), and ensuring it supports Equities, Fixed Income, and Derivatives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design and Maintain the Security Master: Develop and oversee a unified security master database that accurately captures all required attributes for each security, ensuring it serves as the single source of truth for the organization.

  • Data Quality and Integrity: Implement robust data governance practices, including validation, auditing, and reconciliation processes, to maintain high standards of data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.

  • Corporate Actions Integration: Ensure all relevant corporate actions (such as mergers, splits, and dividends) are promptly and accurately reflected in the security master, supporting downstream processes and products.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with index calculation, and client support teams to align the security master with business needs and facilitate seamless data flow across the organization.

  • Deep Domain Expertise: Youll develop a strong understanding of securities, corporate actions, and security master dataskills highly valued in financial services.

  • Impact on High-Profile Products: Your work directly supports flagship indices and analytics, giving you visibility and a sense of ownership in products used globally.

  • Career Growth & Skill Development: Youll gain experience with industry standards (ISIN, CUSIP, Share Type), workflow automation, and data management tools, positioning you for future roles in data management, product development, or analytics.

What Were Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or relevant field

  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases

  • Strong attention to detail and self-motivated

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Basic knowledge of Python

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Databricks

  • Knowledge of ETL processes such as Power Automate
