Squarepoint Services US LLC seeks a Quantitative Researcher, Commodities for its New York, New York location.

Duties: On behalf of an investment management firm, formulate mathematical and simulation models of investment strategies, relating constants and variables, restrictions, alternatives, conflicting objectives, and numerical parameters for the enhancement of trading through computerized algorithms, as well as implementation of models. Utilize comprehensive knowledge of mathematical models and technologies, statistical techniques including regression analysis, machine learning, and statistical inference, and financial and computer skills in order to enhance investment strategies in the commodities asset class. Produce ad hoc analysis based on short-term market developments as requested by the desk to support trade ideas. During the trading day, perform ad-hoc analysis on topics linked with current trade opportunities. Monitor inputs and outputs of the desk’s fundamental models to ensure model results are always to industry-leading standards. Monitor the skill of the fundamental models against realization. Support and follow trade ideas proposed by traders, carrying out fundamental risk modeling of existing positions. Originate fundamental trade ideas and recommendations. Must have a minimum of a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in any STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field of study and 1 year of experience as a Graduate Quantitative Researcher or related position for an investment/asset management organization. Must have at least one (1) year of employment experience with each of the following required skills: 1. Modeling North American natural gas supply chains and physical pipelines 2. Knowledge of weather data for US natural gas trading. 3. Financial Markets modeling 4. Coding in Python. 5. Researching, analyzing, and modeling data in conjunction with machine learning. 6. Understand and translate complex models from Excel to Python. Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $150,000 Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $215,000. 40 hrs/wk. The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
