Responsibilities

The successful candidate will primarily support the origination, structuring and execution activities across a broad range of structured finance transactions in the Asia Pacific market. The role is primarily supporting asset finance business (such as aviation finance, real estate finance etc.) but also to support some project finance activities.
Based in Tokyo, the candidate will work closely with teams in Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney as needed, as well as regional teams in other teams across APAC . The candidate will also work with other areas of the bank such as Client Coverage, Loan Syndication, Sustainable Finance, Debt Capital Markets, Credit Risk Management and Market Risk Management.

Your Key Contributions:

  • Financial modelling, including analysis of financial scenarios and preparation of sensitivity analysis
  • Supporting all aspects of the credit process, including preparation of credit applications, due diligence and assistance with internal model inputs
  • Managing internal processes related to advisory and financing transactions (e.g. updating databases, briefing notes, completing internal processes)
  • Supporting ongoing portfolio management and collecting client information 
  • Contributing to the identification of potential new business opportunities and assisting in the preparation of research and marketing materials
  • Building and maintaining relationship with existing clients and participating in  marketing pitches for new prospects
  • Assisting with  and reviewing transactional documentation
  • Working effectively with all team members throughout the year to support deal closure
     

Profile required

Academic background and certifications, experience

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering or a related discipline
  • Prior experience in a financial analysis role in a financial institution desirable
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and Japanese

Operational Skills

  • Ability to perform financial projections and credit analysis
  • Awareness of evolving industry and market trends, particularly in Real Estate, Energy & BMI, Infrastructure & TMT, Aviation, Shipping and Export Finance across the  Asia Pacific region
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate complex scenarios clearly
  • Ability to manage workload pressures and meet short deadlines
  • Strong focus on compliance and business ethics
