Applications from newly qualified candidates should be made directly. We are not accepting newly qualified candidate submissions from recruitment agencies for this role.
Skaddens London Corporate Restructuring group is known for advising companies, boards of directors, sponsors, creditors and creditor groups, acquirers and other stakeholders in the full spectrum of in- and out-of-court restructuring transactions, with a focus on big ticket, complex cross-border matters as well as insolvency related disputes. The group also advises a stable of repeat clients on special situations and structured private capital transactions.
Our team has participated in many of the most complex restructuring transactions and insolvency-related proceedings and is known for developing sophisticated strategies to offer innovative solutions and enhanced value to clients involved in distressed situations.. The group regularly teams up with its U.S. Corporate Restructuring colleagues and works closely with Skaddens leading M&A, Private Equity, Dispute Resolution, Debt Finance and Capital Markets groups.
Our approach, based on our knowledge of the legal issues and the market, is to take a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach, brokering compromise, rather than seeking confrontation, with the overarching objective of preserving value.
Skaddens involvement in HETA Asset Resolution AGs landmark distressed debt restructuring was recognised with Restructuring Deal of the Year at the IFLR Europe Awards 2017.
We are looking for a newly qualified Associate in the London market (or experience in a similar common law jurisdiction), although those with less or more relevant experience will be considered on their merits. Excellent written communication and drafting skills are also required as well as the ability to demonstrate initiative. They must also possess the willingness and skillset to take on a high degree of responsibility. A high level of academic achievement is also required.
We pay generous rates and provide our lawyers with a highly competitive benefits package. The package includes:
- Discretionary year-end bonus
- Technology allowance
- 22 days holiday and 3 personal days
- Enhanced family leave
- Private medical insurance
- Permanent health insurance
- Life insurance
- Interest-free season ticket loan
- Gym allowance
- Travel insurance
