Purpose

 


Supports multiple T&E processes for the U.S. business which for both GBM and all U.S. support functions. Ensures all activities conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Accountabilities


•    Oversee and perform audit of employee submitted T&Es within 2 business days of receipt
o    Review submitted expenses for compliance to SB policies.  These polices include but no limited to:

  • Travel Expense
  • Client Meals and Entertainment Policy
  • Internal Meals and Event Policy
  • GBM Expense Policy
  • Daily Meal Allowance
  • Education Reimbursement
  •  Commercial Card Policy
    o    Ensure submitted expenses have adequate support:
        Itemized receipts
        Travel pre-approvals (where applicable)
    o    Where necessary, obtain approvals for SVP exceptions.

•    Manage Weekly dashboard: 
o    T&Es audited and approved each week.
o    Aging of T&Es in audit queue.
o    Meet weekly with U.S Finance to review dashboard and address any issues/ escalations. 

•    Triage T&E Service Now tickets submitted by users:
o    Prepare and facilitate required training/refreshing sessions according to the business needs.
o    T&E policy queries.
o    T&E technical issues forwarded to IT team.

•    Creates and develop the cross-training plan to achieve SLA goals.
•    Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
•    Creates and maintains updated the training material and process documentation.
•    Support the staff development.
•    Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
•    Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. 
•    Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

Education / Experience / Other Information 


•    Bachelor’s degree in finance, BA, Accounting, or another related field.(must have)
•    English level intermediate Advanced B1 + (written and spoken).(must have)
•    Desirable Six sigma methodologies knowledge (Yellow/green belt).
•    MS Office tools skilled.
•    Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
•    Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Ability to deal effectively with all levels of the organization.
•    Problem-solving skills.
•    Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback.
•    Ability to work efficiently as part of a team and individually, as needed.
•    Desirable presentation and management skills, well developed in corporate environment.
