The Role 

We are seeking an experienced Trader with Japanese market expertise to join the team at Schonfeld in our Tokyo office. You will have a passion for trading and a deep understanding of the, Japanese market, proactively collaborating with portfolio managers on market knowledge, performance and trends. You will create strong relationships across internal/external stakeholder groups and be able to communicate effectively and work well with others.

What you’ll do 

• Maintain best practice execution on all trades and ensure the desk is always providing best execution service to Portfolio Managers
• Proactively collaborate with Portfolio Managers on market color, portfolio performance summaries and trading ideas
• Understand day-to-day risk, regulatory, and compliance issues associated with all execution matters in Japan
• Understand Ops & Technology issues associated with the Asia Trading desk
• Manage broker relationships and provide feedback to all our execution counterparties
• Manage communication and trading needs of US and European PMs with Japanese market

What you’ll bring

What you need:

• Experience in the Japanese market.
• Deep understanding of equities trading, within Japanese market
• Japanese and English language skills.
• Experience collaborating and supporting multiple Portfolio Managers
• Knowledge around broker-sponsored algorithms, broker cash desks, dark pools and DMA facilities
• Fluency with trading technology, execution management systems and order management systems
• Commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards
• Knowledge around the structure of the major Asian equity markets
• Deep curiosity, attention to detail and strong analytical skills
