About the role

Government Affairs helps shape the external regulatory environment to support Revolut’s growth, while driving innovation through regulation in a way that's positive for consumers, businesses, and society as a whole.

We're looking for a sharp Government Affairs Manager to support the delivery of high-profile public affairs campaigns in the UAE. You'll lead on key policy areas, influence cutting-edge topics around financial services, and shape the debate across the region.

You'll also contribute your insights into new tactics, engagement opportunities, and other ways to improve our campaign delivery.

What you'll be doing

  • Executing the day-to-day delivery of key public affairs campaigns in the UAE
  • Supporting the Head of Government Affairs in creating and delivering the public affairs strategy
  • Supporting the regional CEO on stakeholder engagement activities and strategic advice on key policy and licensing issues
  • Analysing legislation, regulation, and policy, understanding the threats and opportunities to inform a best-in-class advocacy strategy
  • Leading on key policy areas within the UAE, taking ownership of these areas to shape Revolut’s position and deliver positive outcomes
  • Building a network of trusted relationships with the government, regulators, media, etc., while building Revolut’s reputation as a key thought leader within financial services
  • Leveraging external relationships and coalitions, conducting public advocacy campaigns to secure our key policy priorities to boost long-term growth and profitability
  • Monitoring political debate and regulatory and legislative initiatives
  • Working with software engineers to build game-changing engagement tools
  • Engaging in other jurisdictions, following a business need or your own passions and career ambitions 

What you'll need

  • 5+ years of experience in public affairs within the UAE or Gulf region (agency, in-house, or trade body) or in government, parliament, or other public body
  • Proven experience working in technical, highly regulated policy areas
  • To be self-motivated, highly organised, and focused on high-quality delivery
  • A proactive attitude to work well in a team and be trusted to deliver on targets independently without day-to-day oversight
  • The ability to analyse complex, technical policy, legislation, and regulation to convert this information into actionable strategy
  • An understanding of the difference between good politics and good policy, how policymakers and regulators think, and how to advocate for good outcomes
  • To have a passion for technology and financial policy
  • Excellent written communication skills and an ability to deliver a message succinctly, ideally using data and not words
  • The ability to build genuine, mutually respectful relationships with diverse teams and across stakeholders of varying seniority
  • To be comfortable and literate using tech software to manage work streams

Nice to have

  • A solid understanding of current financial services regulations in the region
