About the role:

Were seeking a Team Leader to lead our Lending & Agency operations within Corporate Banking Services across the Asia Pacific region in Sydney.  This role partners closely with Wholesale / Institutional Banking teams to deliver seamless, accurate, & compliant endtoend operational support for corporate banking products.

This is a great opportunity to influence & make a tangible impact as critical services are centralised out of Sydney to support the Asia Pacific region.  You will lead & continue to build a highperforming team responsible for loan processing, facilities, fees, settlements, reconciliations, reporting, & confirmations - ensuring daytoday operations run smoothly while driving continuous improvement across processes, controls, & stakeholder outcomes.

The team works Monday to Friday from 12:30pm to 9pm & 11:30am to 8pm during daylight saving so you must be willing & able to work hours these hours to support the Asia time zone.  As we have a hybrid work environment, you will work a mix of days in the office & days from home.

Top Role Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Lead, coach, & develop the Lending & Agency CBS team
  • Ensure accurate, timely processing & settlements in line with SLAs
  • Act as the primary point of contact for operational issues, escalations, & stakeholder queries across APAC
  • Partner with regional & global stakeholders to align priorities, manage backlogs, & support change initiatives
  • Serve as a subject matter expert across Lending, Agency, Facilities, & Fees
  • Drive process improvements through simplification, automation, & performance enhancements
  • Ensure strong risk, control, & regulatory compliance, including issue management & reconciliation resolution
  • Maintain & enhance operational policies, procedures, and controls
  • Review & sign manual confirmations and oversee timely distribution

To be successful you will have:

  • 5+ years experience in Senior Operations, ideally with regional exposure
  • Demonstrated leadership capability within Wholesale &/or Markets Operations, including recruiting, coaching, developing, & performance managing teams
  • Proven experience supporting business transitions & leading effective change management initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of corporate lending products, payments, & settlements
  • Experience working with systems such as SWIFT, RTGS, & T24 highly regarded
  • Sound understanding of financial products, including Corporate Lending, Trade, & Commodity Finance
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, & influencing skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritise, & multitask in a fastpaced environment
  • A proactive, servicedriven mindset with a strong commitment to continuous improvement
  • Chinese language skills (Mandarin or Cantonese) highly regarded
  • Willingness & ability to work 12:30pm - 9pm Monday to Friday (mix of in office & at home)
