About the role

The Senior Analyst, Incident and Breach Reporting is primarily responsible for supporting and coordinating compliance incident management and breach reporting across the end-to-end value chain of business operations.

The role is accountable for assessing incidents, determining regulatory reportability and ensuring compliance with breach reporting obligations applicable to an Authorised Deposit-Taking Institution (ADI) and associated regulatory frameworks.

The role provides technical compliance advisory support on incident-related matters, escalations, and general compliance enquiries, while working closely with the broader Compliance team and business stakeholders to ensure timely and effective outcomes.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 

  • Own and coordinate end-to-end management of compliance incidents and breach reporting across the business divisions
  • Assess incidents for regulatory reportability and ensure adherence to breach reporting timeframes
  • Manage compliance breach processes, including preparation and submission of regulatory notifications where required
  • Perform Line 2 review and challenge of incident assessments, root cause analysis and remediation actions
  • Monitor incident lifecycle and ensure timely closure of actions within relevant systems
  • Identify trends, systemic issues and control weakness through thematic analysis of incidents and provide insights to support risk management
  • Provide compliance advice and subject matter expertise on incident-related matters, escalations and business initiatives
  • Engage with business stakeholders to drive timely incident resolution and improve quality of incident management practices
  • Ensure alignment of incident and breach management activities with the Compliance Management Framework and internal policies
  • Provide input into internal and regulatory reporting, including management and board reporting
  • Support the uplift of incident management capability across the business through guidance and knowledge sharing
  • Support management of audit and review actions with compliance impact
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Commerce/ Economics/ Business/ Laws or relevant industry qualification.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4-5 years experience gained within the Banking and Finance industry.
  • Experience in compliance, incident management, breach assessment or similar activities.
  • Experience in Line 1 or Line 2 risk or compliance roles.

Knowledge:

  • Good understanding of the Australian regulatory environment and requirements
  • Knowledge of incident management, breach reporting and regulatory obligations
  • Knowledge of Risk and Controls frameworks
  • Knowledge of business process and process mapping
  • An understanding of banking and finance operations
