The Rabobank Traineeship
The Rabobank Traineeship offers you the chance to get to know the organization and our departments in 18 months and work with many different colleagues from the bank.
We offer you a unique experience with four rotations (of approx. 4 months each), giving you a broad perspective on our organization. These rotations can take place within any department at the bank. We arrange the first two assignments based on your educational background, interests, and growth potential. After that, its up to you to choose what your preference would be!
Personal development is also central to the program. In addition to working within the various departments, you will also work on developing yourself, both professionally and personally, through coaching sessions and training. You will receive guidance from a talent manager. Next to that, a buddy, being a former trainee, will help you find your way within the bank. Mentorship, by a more senior colleague within the bank, is also provided.
During the Global track of the Rabobank Traineeship, you will build a large network. There are plenty of challenging projects for you to focus on as a Rabobank Trainee. You are the future of the bank. What will it look like? Thats up to you! Here are some examples of rotations from current and former trainees:
- Originating green bonds.
- Helping customers with the alignment of energy transition projects.
- Project management within our innovation teams.
- Creating finance solutions to make homes more sustainable.
- Consulting on strategic projects within the Financial and Economic Crime domain of the bank.
- Working on financing transactions for the bank's corporate clients.
- Building the Next Generation Credit Journey for Rabobank.
After the 18 months, you apply for a position within Rabobank that suits you best.
Note: In case you are really motivated to work in corporate finance, we advise you to apply for the Wholesale Banking track, since these trainees will have priority in the available spots in those departments.

- A completed Masters degree. Even if you are about to graduate, we would love to get to know you.
- A maximum of 2 years of work experience.

- The skills to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
- Living in The Netherlands.
The Rabobank Traineeship starts on the 1st of October 2026!

An assessment is part of the application process. If you are invited for an interview, Bo, our virtual assistant, will contact you via SMS and email to schedule the interviews. First interviews will take place via teams. If you pass the first interview, you are invited for one of the selection days in our Headquarters on June 2nd, 9th and 10th.
Screening is part of the application procedure. We test based on the screening procedures that apply within Rabobank to ensure that new employees are sufficiently reliable to perform work at Rabobank.

The Application Process

The online assessment gives us insight into your skills, your ability to adapt to changes, your intelligence, your preferred learning style, and your motivations and personal values. We will discuss this with you if you are invited for an interview.
We invite you for one or more (online) interviews. We want to know if you fit the role and the team.
On the selection day, you will come to our office and complete an assignment. This could be a personal pitch or a business case. You will also have an interview with a manager and meet colleagues and other Young Professionals.
