About the role
Rabobank’s Operations Payments & Processing team is part of the COO Domain’s Operations area & plays a vital role in delivering smooth, reliable payment experiences for our clients. We are looking for two proactive & detail-oriented Payments Officers to join our Sydney-based team. You’ll enjoy a hybrid work model, combining office & home flexibility. This role reports to the Team Leader, Payments.
This position offers opportunities to develop broader skills in payments processing & authorisation as we continue to improve & enhance our operations. Adaptability & a willingness to learn will be key to your success.
Top Role Accountabilities:
As a Payments Officer, you will be ensuring every transaction is accurate, timely, & compliant. Your day will include:
- Delivering exceptional customer service & building trusted relationships
- Processing a variety of transactions - from automatic payments to deposit setups & interest adjustments
- Investigating & resolving payment queries
- Reviewing data sets & reconciling accounts
- Collaborating in team meetings & contributing ideas to improve processes
- Learning new systems & supporting cross-training initiatives
- Performing other duties as needed to keep things running smoothly
To be successful you will have:
- Some experience in banking, finance, or customer service - or a keen interest in these areas. If you are in a call-centre & looking to transition into a more back office oriented role this could be your opportunity
- A positive, can-do attitude & an ability to adapt to change
- Great attention to detail & accuracy
- A customer-first mindset with strong communication skills
- An ability to prioritise & meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- A collaborative, proactive approach to working in a team
Knowledge of Australian banking processes or risk & compliance principles is a bonus - but not essential. If you have the right mindset, we will provide training & support to help you succeed.
